Rev. F. A. Slater, who was pastor of the First Baptist church of Matawan since 1873, and who was one of the most widely known ministers in Monmouth county, died at Matawan last Friday. He had been sick for some time. The funeral was held on Monday. One son, Frank H. Slater, is a druggist at Matawan.
