|
Hubert McCormick, who lived near All Saints'church at Navesink, died on Thursday of Bright's disease, aged 57 years. Mr. McCormick was stricken with sickness about two months ago and for two days was in a dangerous condition. The disease was pronounced malaria. He recovered from that attack sufficiently to be able to attend to his business but he never regained his former good health. On Tuesday of last week he became suddenly sick again. It was then found that he had Bright's disease, but the disease had progressed so far that nothing could be done to save his life.
Mr. McCormick was born in Ireland. He came to this country 37 years ago and located at New York. For fourteen years he was employed by the United States express company. About twenty years ago he went to the Highlands and for a number of years was employed on the Deming place. At the time of his death he was engaged in the milk business. A wife and a daughter, Miss Madge J. McCormick, survive him. He leaves also a brother in Dublin and a sister in New York. He was a man of strict integrity and had the confidence and esteem of all who knew him. He leaves a considerable estate.
The funeral was held on Monday at ten o'clock at the house and at eleven o'clock at the Church of our Lady at the Highlands. A requiem high mass was celebrated by Father Sweeney, the pastor of the church. The body was buried at Mt. Oliver cemetery.
