Charles Earl Garretson, son of Martha and Percy Garretson of East Oceanic, died on Sunday morning of a complication of diseases. He was seventeen years old and had been confined to his bed for five months. The funeral was held this morning at ten o’clock at the house and the service was conducted by Rev. S. W. Knipe. The body was taken to Greenville, N. J., for burial.
The lad was a member of the graduating class of the Oceanic public school and would have graduated next June. He was also a member of the Oceanic Presbyterian Sunday-school. He was bright and was a great favorite with his schoolmates. During his sickness he received many attentions from his schoolmates and other friends, which did much to lighten the sick room.
