New Jersey Obituaries - 1900 - Joseph VanHise


   

Joseph VanHise, a former resident of Englishtown, died of hasty consumption at the Long Branch hospital on Sunday, February 11th aged 58 years. He was a widower, his wife, who was a daughter of John Walling of Tennent, having died about seventeen years ago. In the summer Mr. VanHise was connected with a livery stable at Asbury Park and in the winter he lived at South River. When he was taken sick he was at Lakewood. Mr. VanHise served in the civil war in the fourteenth regiment, New Jersey volunteers. He leaves one son, John VanHise of Asbury Park.
