New Jersey Obituaries - 1900 - Britton Woolley, Jr.


   

Britton Woolley, Jr., of Long Branch, died suddenly of heart disease last Wednesday, aged 56 years. He had been sick only a few days. Mr. Woolley enlisted in the civil war and served nine months. He joined the James B. Morris post in 1881. In politics he was a Democrat. He suceeded (sic) the late DeWitt C. Newing as overseer of the poor, but was defeated for a re-nomination last March by R. Horace Curtis.

Mr. Woolley was the son of Britton Woolley and was born at Long Branch. He leaves two sisters. They are Mrs. Treadwell Morris of Long Branch and Mrs. Matthews of Asbury Park.
