New Jersey Obituaries - 1900 - John O. Patterson

John O. Patterson died at Brooklyn on Saturday morning. He was 54 years old and death was caused
by heart disease. A widow and three children survive him. He leaves also four brothers, Steward
and J. Frank Patterson of Red Bank, Robert Patterson of Hoboken and Stephen W. Patterson of Navesink.
Mr. Patterson was born at Navesink and was the son of W. B. Patterson. When he was a young man he
went to work for the Pennsylvania railroad company as fireman on the Trenton, a boat which ran between
New York and South Amboy. A the time of his death he was still employed by the company as an engineer
on one of their towboats.
