New Jersey Obituaries - 1900 - Mrs. Catherine (Scott) Price

Mrs. Catherine (Scott) Price, the oldest resident of Oceanport, died last Wednesday, aged 89 years. She was the daughter of Jane and William Scott of Eatontown. When 25 years old she married Corlies Price and he died about fifty years ago. Mrs. Price had been in her usual health until a short time before her death. Although well advanced in age she retained her mental faculties to a remarkable degree. Mrs. Price was the mother of nine children, five of whom survive her. They are Mrs. J. E. Corlies and Winfield S. Price of Oceanport, Mrs. W. H. Borden of Little Silver, Mrs. Caroline Cole of New York and John C. Price of Virginia Beach, Virginia. The funeral was held at two o’clock on Saturday, Rev. Oscar Barchwitz, pastor of the Eatontown Baptist church, officiating. The body was buried in Glenwood cemetery.
The pall bearers were S. W. Ferry, Thomas Riddle, Rufus T. West, W. A. Haynes, E. W. Smith and Frank Lundy.
