New Jersey Obituaries - 1900 - Mary J. (Allen) Budd

Mary J. (Allen) Budd, wife of Joseph Budd of Eatontown, died on Saturday of chronic hepatitis, aged 65 years. Mrs. Budd had been sick three months. She was the daughter of Rebecca and William Allen of New Gretna, New Jersey.
On November 20th, 1854, she married Joseph Budd. Mrs. Budd had been a loving wife and mother and a kind friend and she will be greatly missed. Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Budd, eight of whom are living. One daughter, Minnie, died about four years ago. The other children are Mrs. Stout Thompson of Red Bank; Mrs. Selden R. Probasco of Burlington; Mrs. Harry Cranmer, Miss Katherine E. Budd, Miss Irene M. Budd, Walter Budd and Allen Fillmore Budd, who live at home, and Joseph Budd, Jr., of Lakewood.
The funeral was held at the house at two o’clock on Monday afternoon. The sermon was preached by Rev. E. Y. Stephens, pastor of the Eatontown Methodist church, and the body was buried at West Long Branch. The pall bearers were David VanSchoick, William Aumack, William Lippincott and Mr. Watkins.
