George H. Smock died at the home of J. C. Sutphen of Tennent on Thursday February 22d, aged 63 years. Death was caused by paralysis. Mr. Smock was born near Tennent, of slave parentage, his father being owned by Jacob Baker. The Bakers left provision for Mr. Smock by will and Mr. Sutphen kept him in accordance with their instructions.
