New Jersey Obituaries - 1900 - John R. Valleau

John R. Valleau of Herbert street died last Wednesday of heart disease and dropsy, aged 69 years. He had been ailing for some time but he did not give up work until a few days before his death. He had been sexton of Grace church for some time previous to his death.

Mr. Valleau was born in New York, but had lived at Red Bank the greater part of his life. He was twice married. His first wife was Miss Mateina Smith, daughter of Joseph Smith of Red Bank, and upon her death he married her sister Catherine. He leaves one son, William Valleau of New York, by his first wife, and three children, Joseph, Harry and Julia Valleau, by his second wife. The funeral was held on Friday at the First Methodist church and the body was buried at Fair View cemetery.
