Ira Antonides of Chapel Hill died on Sunday, aged 64 years. Death was caused by stomach trouble with which Mr. Antonides had been sick for some time. He had an attack of the grip during the winter and this left him in a weakened condition. He was the son of Abraham Antonides and was born at Holmdel. He learned the wheelwright trade with his brother, Charles Antonides of Holmdel. After learning the trade he bought out his brother’s business and his brother then moved to West Long Branch. A few years later Ira Antonides moved to Morrisville where he remained for five years. From Morrisville he moved to Tinton Falls. He remained at Tinton Falls five years and twenty years ago he moved to Chapel Hill, where he had since lived. A wife and five children survive him. The children are William T. Antonides of Red Bank, Mrs. Charles Hampton of Long Branch, Mrs. Gordon Patterson, Charles and Ira Antonides of Atlantic Highlands, and Frank Antonides, who lived at home. Three brothers and three sisters also survive him. They are Mrs. Delia Morris and Mrs. Charles Curtis of Red Bank, Mrs. Lewis Lane of West Long Branch, Charles Antonides of Asbury Park, Timbrook Antonides of Manasquan and William W. Antonides of Morrisville. The funeral was held at the house at ten o’clock this morning and at eleven o’clock at the Middletown Reformed church, of which Mr. Antonides was a member. The sermon was preached by Rev. P. K. Hageman, pastor of the Middletown Reformed church. Rev. W. H. J. Parker, pastor of the Middletown Baptist church assisted in the service. The body was buried in the Holmdel cemetery.
