New Jersey Obituaries - 1900 - Rev. William Edgar Wright
|
Rev. William Edgar Wright, formerly rector of St. Peter’s Episcopal church of Freehold, died last Thursday, aged 44 years. Death was due to Bright’s disease with which he had been sick two years. Mr. Wright was the son of Annie and Aaron W. Wright and was born at Newark. He was at first a Baptist minister and had charge of a church at Middletown, New York. In 1883 he was made a deacon in the Episcopal church and was made a priest in 1884 by Bishop Scarborough of the diocese of New Jersey. He went to St. Peter’s church at Freehold from Elmira on June 5th, resigning that charge a short time ago on account of poor health.
In 1880 Mr. Wright married Miss Ella Vail of Middletown, New York. She and three children survive him. The children are Adelaide, Harold and Cuthbert Wright, all of whom live at home.
