FOUND DEAD IN HER YARD
The Sudden Death of Mrs. Mary E. Walling of Keyport
Mrs. Mary E. Walling, wife of Schanck P. Walling of Keyport, dropped dead in her yard on Tuesday of last week. After eating her dinner
Mrs. Walling went out in the yard to attend to her flower beds. A short time afterward Mrs. Howard L. Irwin while driving past the yard
saw Mrs. Walling lying on the ground. She summoned a doctor, but when the doctor arrived Mrs. Walling was dead. Apoplexy was the cause of
death. Mr. Walling had left home for his work a few minutes before his wife died and she was then apparently in the best of health.
Mrs. Walling was the daughter of the late James Kniffen of Matawan and was 54 years old. She married Schanck P. Walling in 1869. Three children
were born to then but none of them are living. She leaves an adopted child.
