Obituaries - NJ - 1901 - James B. Frost
|
James B. Frost died on Thursday morning at this home between Middletown and New Monmouth. Death was caused by consumption. He had been confined to the house for a month. About two weeks before his death he underwent an operation but he continued to grow steadily worse. He was 41 years old. Mr. Frost was the son of Catharine and the late Daniel Frost. He was unmarried and he farmed the homestead place with his brother, Joseph D. Frost. Their mother kept house for them. James was the first to die out of a family of nine children. His brothers and sisters are Joseph D. Frost, Daniel H. Frost of New York; Ira Frost, paying teller of the Old Trenton Banking company of Trenton; Mrs. Abram Stout, Mrs. James S. Stoothoff and Mrs. Walter K. Hopping of Middletown; Mrs. John S. Leonard of Leonardville, and Mrs. John S. VanMater of Hazlet. Mr. Frost was honest and upright in all his dealings and he had a host of friends throughout Middletown township.
The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the house. Rev. P. K. Hageman, pastor of the Middletown Reformed church, had charge of the service. The pall bearers were Benjamin J. Parker, Charles V. Hope, Daniel T. Polhemus, Garrett D. Longstreet, William S. Heyer and John T. Hopping. The body was buried at Fair View cemetery.
