Two Deaths In One Family
A Child Dies One Day and Its Mother Dies the Next
Two deaths occurred last week in the family of Patrick Sheehan of Fair Haven. A son Michael, aged one year,
died on Friday of pneumonia, and Mrs. Sheehan, the child's mother, died the following day. The child was sick only two days,
Mrs. Sheehan's death was caused by peritonitis, resulting from a fall she had the week previous. Mr. Sheehan is sick with
the grip and the death of his wife and child is a severe shock to him.
Mrs. Sheehan was born in Ireland. She came to this country six years ago and after working in New York two years she got
married and moved to Fair Haven. She was a member of the Catholic church. Three sisters in New York survive her. The
child's funeral was held at the house on Saturday and Mrs. Sheehan's funeral was held in St. James's church at Red Bank
on Monday afternoon. Rev. James A. Reynolds conducted both services. The pall bearers at Mrs. Sheehan's funeral were John
Nalthy, Thomas Farley, James Butler, Terrance Mulligan, Michael Kavanaugh and Michael Weir, all of Fair Haven. Both bodies
were buried at Mt. Olivet.
