Obituaries - NJ - 1901 - Mrs. Sarah McKelvy Creelan

Sarah, wife of Philemon Creelan of Scobeyville, died last Wednesday after a sickness of fourteen years with consumption. The funeral was held on Saturday at the house. Rev. Garrett Wyckoff of the Holmdel Reformed church had charge of the service. The body was buried at Colt's Neck.

Mrs. Creelan was born at Toms river. She married George McKelvy, a farmer, when she was about eighteen years old. She leaves three children by this marriage. They are Mrs. William Wolt and Mrs. Joseph Sniffen of Red Bank and William McKelvy of Freehold. She was left a widow when she was 38 years of age and she then moved to Red Bank. Five years later she married Philemon Creelan, who was at that time employed as a stone cutter. About fifteen years ago they moved on a farm at Scobeyville, where they had since lived. Mrs. Creelan leaves one child by her second marriage. His name is Philemon Creelan and he lives at home.
