Thomas S. Walling of Belford was burning off a tract of land last week when his whiskers got afire and one side of his whiskers was burned partly off. A few day later Mr. Walling had some plastering to do in the house and he needed some hair to mix with the mortar. He thought of his one-sided beard and by trimming up his whiskers he got all the hair he needed. Mr. Walling's whiskers were very long and neither the hair that was burned away or cut off is missed very much.
