Mary C. Hankinson, wife of John Hankinson of Everett, died last Saturday morning of heart disease and dropsy. She was sixty years old. She had been complaining for the past year and had been confined to the bed four weeks. The funeral was held at the house on Monday afternoon and the service was conducted by Rev. Robert B. Fisher, pastor of the Holmdel Baptist church. The body was buried in the Holmdel cemetery.

Mrs. Hankinson was born in a house which is but a few feet from the house in which she died. She married Mr. Hankinson in 1852. All her life except about a year and a half had been spent on the place where she died. She lived at Matawan six months about the year 1872, while her husband was employed in a blacksmith shop there, and he (she?) lived at New Monmouth for a year while her husband conducted a blacksmith shop at that place. She leaves three children, Benjamin Hankinson, who lives at home; Mrs. Curtis Green of Red Bank, and Mrs. John Sniffen of Oceanport. She also leaves one brother, Daniel Stilwagon of Red Bank.
