A Sudden Death

Mrs. Thomas (Sarah Jane Dugan) Saguerton Dies Suddenly at Shrewsbury

Mrs. Sarah Jane Saguerton, wife of Thomas Saguerton, who lives on a farm between Shrewsbury and Tinton Falls, died very suddenly on Monday. On the Wednesday previous she gave birth to a boy, who was named after his father. On Monday Mrs. Saguerton appeared to be in the best of health. About ten o'clock she complained of a severe pain in her chest and in a few hours, before the family realized that she was seriously sick, she died. Coroner Tetley was notified and an examination by a physician developed the fact that she died of acute indigestion. She had eaten a banana the morning of her death and that is supposed to have caused the indigestion. An inquest was not deemed necessary.

Mrs. Saguerton was 36 years old and she was born at Marlboro. Her father's name was Patrick Dugan. She was married eighteen years ago to Mr. Saguerton. At the time of her marriage both she and her husband were employesd by Jabob C. Shutts of Shrewsbury and Mr. Saguerton remained in Mr. Shutts employ thirteen years afterwards. Five years ago he left the employ of Mr. Shutts and located on a small farm which he bought.

Mrs. Saguerton leaves seven children, all of whom live at home. Their names are Mary, Sarah, Katie, Nellie, Nora, John and Thomas. John Dugan of Marlboro, Michael Dugan of Long Branch and Timothy Dugan of Newark are brothers of Mrs. Saguerton and Mrs. William Mack of Marlboro is her sister.

The funeral will be held in St. James's church at Red Bank to-morrow morning at ten o'clock. The burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery at Headden's Corner.
