John Simmons of Keyport died on Tuesday of last week. He was 78 years old and his death was due to a general breaking down of his health. He had been in failing health for a year, but his condition was not considered dangerous until two days before his death. He was born at Keansburg and had always lived in the vicinity of Keyport. He leaves a son, Benjamin Simmons of Keyport, and four daughters, Mrs. Jesse McLaughlin of Jersey City, Mrs. Carlton Herbert of New York, Mrs. Ella Donnell of Belmar, and Mrs. James VanBrakle of Oak Grove.
