John Havens of Manasquan died of cancer on Friday, November 29th, aged 47 years. Last May while at work down a well Mr. Havens was struck on the jaw by a falling bucket and the injury caused cancer. Besides a wife he leaves a son, Jacob Havens, and two daughters, Mrs. Ray Legg and Miss Etta Havens, all of whom live at Manasquan. Mr. Havens was a member of the Junior American mechanics lodge of Manasquan and eighty members of the order turned out at his funeral.
