John VanClief Died in a Stable

John VanClief, who had been hostler at the Osborn house at Manasquan for a number of years, was found dead in the hotel stable on Wednesday morning. VanClilef was subject to epileptic fits and it is supposed that he died in one of these. He had been on a spree for several days. A fellow employee saw him lying in the stable on Tuesday night but thought he was only sleeping off the effects of liquor and he did not try to awaken him. It was not discovered until the next morning that he was dead. VanClief was 28 years old. Nothing is known of his relatives or where he originally came from.
