Harry Edwards Dead

He Died Very Suddenly on Thursday

He Was Assistant Cashier of the Second National Bank of Red Bank

Harry Edwards, assistant cashier of the Second national bank of Red Bank and a son of Isaac B. Edwards, cashier of the bank, died suddenly of heart disease last Thursday. He had been troubled with heart disease for some time but was able to attend to his duties at the bank until two weeks before his death. His death on Thursday morning was very unexpected. His mother was with him when he died.

Mr. Edwards was 48 years old. He was born at Freehold and was educated at the Freehold institute. He graduated in 1875 and the same year the family moved to Red Bank. The Second national bank was started in that year and Isaac B. Edwards was chosen cashier. His son commenced work in the bank at the same time. In 1880 and 1881 he was associated with the Mercantile trust company of New York, but he returned to the Second national bank and for a number of years past had been assistant cashier.

Mr. Edwards was married October 6th 1881, to Annie H. Hendrickson, daughter of the late James H. Hendrickson of Red Bank. She and two daughters survive him. The children are Charlotte, aged eight years, and Margaret, aged ten years. Another child, a son, was drowned about ten years ago by the accidental upsetting of a canoe while out fishing with his father. Mr. Edwards leaves also a sister, Mrs. Mary Knees of Philadelphia.

The funeral was held on Monday afternoon at Mr. Edwards's late residence. Rev. S. H. Thompson conducted the service, assisted by Rev. S. D. Price. The directors of the bank and J. Dey Conover of Middletown acted as pall bearers. The body was buried at Fair View cemetery.
