William Jeffrey Dead
He Dies Suddenly In North Carolina
He Was the Son of Charles Jeffrey of Oceanic and He Had Been Engaged in the Fish Business at Orient For Several Winters
William A. Jeffrey of Oceanic died on Sunday at North Carolina, where he had been engaged in the wholesale fish business for several winters past. His death was very sudden and was caused by heart disease. The circumstances of his death have not been learned, as the only news received at Oceanic has been by telegram. It was not known that Mr. Jeffrey was sick and the news of his death was a great shock to his friends.
Mrs. Jeffrey, who was at Orient with her husband, will reach Oceanic with the body to-day. The funeral will be held to-morrow at half-past one o'clock at the home of Mr. Jeffrey's father and at two o'clock at the Methodist church. The funeral will be conducted by Rev. J. W. Nickelson. The body will be buried at Little Silver.
Mr. Jeffrey was 49 years old. He was the son of Charles Jeffrey and was born at Oceanic. His father and mother are both living. He learned the carpenter trade and for a time was a member of the firm of Sewing, Jeffrey & Co., which built the public school at Oceanic. He married Miss Lottie Snyder, daughter of Benjamin F. Snyder of Oceanic, who survives him. He leaves no children. Two sisters and two brothers survive him. They are Mrs. Dewitt Brower, Mrs. Samuel VanBrunt, Edward Jeffrey and Frank Jeffrey, all of Oceanic. Mr. Jeffrey was a member of the Red Men's lodge and the Methodist church of Oceanic and he had a host of friends.
