Obituaries - NJ - 1901 - Mrs. Ruth Freeman Richardson

Mrs. Ruth Freeman Richardson, widow of Prof. Amos Richardson, died of heart disease on Tuesday of last week at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. John Barcle Conover of Freehold, aged 85 years. Mr. Richardson was born at Hanover, New Hampshire, and was the daughter of Mary
Russell and Jonathan Freeman. She married Prof. Richardson and the couple moved to Fryeburg Maine, where Prof. Richardson conducted a
school. In 1845 they moved to Freehold, where they established the young ladies' seminary. Mrs. Richardson's husband was blind and
she assisted him in conducting the school. He died October 16th, 1881. Mrs. Richardson was of Puritan New England stock. She leaves
two children, Mrs. Laura Conover and Prof. Charles F. Richardson of Beverly. A brother and sister survive her also. They are Dr.
O. R. Freeman of Freehold and Mrs. Martha F. Doran of Malvern, Pennsylvania.
