Obituaries - NJ - 1901 - Mrs. Henrietta M. (French) Bergen
|
Henrietta M., wife of Charles H. Bergen of Red Bank, died of consumption on Saturday morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. George Brower of Monmouth
street. She was thirty years old. Mrs. Bergen was the daughter of Charles G. French, who makes his home with his daughter, Mrs. Brower. Mrs. Bergen's mother died several years ago. Mrs. Bergen had been sick for some time with the disease which caused her death. She was a member of Trinity church and she was a graduate of the Red Bank public school, being a member of the class of 1886. About five years ago she married Charles H. Bergen of Red Bank and the couple then moved to Brooklyn, where they lived until last spring. Mrs. Bergen's health began to fail at that time and they moved to Red Bank.
The funeral was held at the home of Mrs. Brower on Monday afternoon. The sermon was preached by Rev. Robert MacKellar and he was assisted by Rev. Charles E. Hill, who is the grandfather of Mrs. Bergen's husband. The body was buried in Fair View cemetery. The pall bearers were John Mount, Ensley Morris and Walter B. Parsons of Red Bank, and Robert Barrows of Long Branch.
Mrs. Bergen leaves one child, a girl about three years old.
