|
Mrs. Sarah Ann Schanck, widow of Sidney Schanck of Marlboro township, died last Wednesday from pneumonia at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John V.
N. Willis of Plainfield, with whom she had lived of late. Mrs. Schanck was 94 years old, but until a week before her death she was very active and
in possession of all her faculties. She was the daughter of Aaron Smock and was born in Marlboro township. Her husband Sidney Schanck, died in 1850.
At the time of her death Mrs. Schanck was the oldest living member of the Brick church at Bradevelt. She sang in the choir at the time the present
church edifice was built and last summer she was able to sing, with almost her old-time vigor, one of the anthems that was sung on the anniversary of
the building of the church. Besides the daughter with whom she made her home Mrs. Schanck leaves a daughter and son, Mrs. Peter R. Boice of near
Freehold and Lafayette F. S. Schanck of Freehold. She leaves also a sister and two brothers, Mrs. Robert Smock and Aaron A. Smock of Freehold and
John Smock of Colt's Neck.
