Obituaries - NJ - 1901 - Elijah Tice

Elijah Tice of White street died on Saturday of cancer of the stomach, aged 52 years. He had been failing in health for the past two months but had
been in bed only a week previous to his death. He was born at Cheesequake, but the greater part of his life had been spent at South Amboy. About
five years ago he moved to Red Bank. He was at one time in charge of the lunch counter at the Sheridan hotel and at the time of his death he was
in charge of the lunch counter at the Germania hotel. He married Mary Dietz of Matawan and she and three children survive him. The children are
Mrs. James Letts of South Amboy and Mrs. Wallace Bennett and Norman Tice of Red Bank.
Mr. Tice was a member of the Junior American Mechanics lodge of Red Bank and his wife will receive $500 from that order. The funeral was held
yesterday at twelve o'clock at the house and at half-past one o'clock at the Methodist church at South Amboy. The body was buried at South Amboy.
The Junior Mechanics lodge of Red Bank had charge of the funeral.
