A Peculiar Death

David Laffer, a Russian jeweler of Asbury Park, died on Sunday night from brain trouble. Last Friday noon he was taken with an attack of dizziness, and soon thereafter he gave evidence of approaching paralysis. In a little while he had lost all control over the lower part of his body and before the afternoon was over he was completely paralyzed. The case was a peculiar one and six doctors were called in, among them being Dr. Edwin Feld of Red Bank. All of them declared that Laffer's case was hopeless and he died on Sunday night without in any degree recovering from the paralysis. Laffer was forty years old and had been in this country twelve years. He leaves a wife and three children in very poor circumstances.
