Died From Lockjaw

Frank Bryon Ran a Rusty Nail in his Foot and Death Resulted

Frank Bryon of Red Bank died of lockjaw at the Long Branch hospital on Monday night. The boy was playing fox with a number of companions on Tuesday night of last week and he stepped on a rusty nail, which ran in his foot. Very little was thought of the injury at the time, but late in the week the wound began to give trouble and on Sunday morning lockjaw set in. On Sunday afternoon the boy was taken to the hospital for treatment, but the physicians could do nothing for him and he died the next day.

Frank was fourteen years old and was the son of David Bryon of No. 85 West Front street, Red Bank. He was a bright, active boy with a good many friends and acquaintances among the lads of the town. He leaves three brothers and two sisters. Two of the brothers, Charles and David are grown up.

The funeral will be held at the house to-morrow night. The body will be taken to Evergreen cemetery, Brooklyn, Friday morning, where it will be buried in the family plot. June 19, 1901
