Samuel W. Wardell of Branchport died on Friday, November 1st, aged 83 years. He had been in failing health for over a year. He was the son of Mary and Jesse Lippencott and was a life-long resident of Branchport, having been born within a short distance of the place where he died. In early life Mr. Wardell was a farmer. Later he ran a bakery but for many years before his death he conducted a milk route. He was a member of St. Luke's church of Long Branch City and for many years was a member of the board of trustees.

Mr. Wardell leaves a widow, three children and one brother. The children are Mrs. Thomas W. Cooper and John Wardell of Long Branch and Mrs. S. S. Weatherby of Atlantic Highlands. The brother is Joel Wardell of Long Branch.
