Obituaries - NJ - 1901 - William A. Whaley

William A. Whaley of Marlboro, for many years a wheelwright at Holmdel, died on Tuesday at the home of his son, Horatio Whaley, at the former place. Death was due to cancer of the face, with which he had suffered eight years. He was 67 years old (per the death notice he was 68 years and 3 months).
Mr. Whaley was born at New York. He located at Holmdel in 1856 and remained there until last August when he moved to Marlboro with his son Horatio, who is his only child. His wife was Mary H. Brower, daughter of Joseph Brower of Colt's Neck. His mother survives him. She lives at Marlboro and is 87 years old. The funeral was held on Thursday at twelve o'clock at the house and at half-past one o'clock at the Holmdel Reformed church, of which Mr. Whaley was a member. Rev. Garrett Wyckoff conducted the service. The body was buried in the Holmdel cemetery.
