Death Of A Hermit

Benjamin Tilton of Colt’s Neck Dies of General Debility

Benjamin Tilton, an aged resident of Colt’s Neck, died on Friday of general debility. Mr. Tilton lived a hermit life. He seldom went away from his home and was never visited by anyone. When he was not noticed about his house as usual after the storm last week Mr. Egan, who lives near by, thought that something was wrong and he went to the house. He found Tilton ia a very weak condition. Medical aid was summoned but he continued to sink despite all that could be done for him. Mr. Tilton was 71 years old. He leaves two brothers, Reuben and Thomas Tilton of Keyport. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon.
