Mary Eliza Compton, wife of Job Compton of Belford, died on Sunday of dropsy and heart disease, with which she had been afflicted for some time. She was sixty years old. She was the daughter of William Merigold and had lived at Belford all her life. Besides a husband she leaves one son, Forrest Compton of Brooklyn. She leaves also a brother, William Merigold of Texas, who formerly kept a store at Belford and a sister, Mrs. James Seeley, of Brooklyn. Another brother, Louis Merigold, died some time ago.
