Obituaries - NJ - 1902 - Mrs. Mary Ellen (Degans) Duncan

Mary Ellen, wife of John Duncan of Wayside, died on Friday, aged fifty years. Her death was caused by pleuro (sic) pneumonia with which she had been sick a week. She was the daughter of Anne and James Degans and she married John Duncan April 10th, 1868. The couple had ten children, six of whom are living. They are James A. Duncan of Red Bank, Mrs. Joseph Pedro of New Bedford, Massachusetts; John F. Duncan of Tinton Falls, Frederick H. Duncan of Wayside and Isabel A. and Mary Cecelia Duncan, who live at home. Four grandchildren also survive Mrs. Duncan. Peter, James and Annie Degans of Eatontown are brothers and sisters of Mrs. Duncan.
Mrs. Duncan was a member of the Star of-the-Sea church of Long Branch. The funeral was held at this church on Monday and the body was buried in the Catholic cemetery at Long Branch.
