Obituaries - NJ - 1902 - Mrs. Cornelia A. (Clayton) Smock

Mrs. Cornelia A. Smock, wife of Jacob Smock of East Freehold, died on Saturday at the Long Branch hospital. She went to the hospital a month ago to be operated on for cancer. Two operations were performed but it was impossible to save her life. She was 65 years old. Mrs. Smock was the daughter of William Clayton and was born in Atlantic township. Besides a husband she leaves a son, James D. Smock, who lives at home, and a daughter, Mrs. Walter Reed of Tinton Falls. She leaves also four sisters and a brother. They are Mrs. George Heiser of Red Bank, Mrs. Elizabeth Brower of Interlaken, Mrs. Amanda Wiliams of Trenton, Miss Jane Clayton, who lived with Mrs. Smock and William Clayton of Wickatunk. The funeral was held to-day at the house and the body was buried at Maplewood cemetery at Freehold.
