Thomas C. Mason, Sr., of Keyport died on Tuesday of last week of stomach trouble, aged 64 years. He had been sick about a year. He was the son of Phoebe and John Mason and was born at Keansburg He started in the oyster business at Keyport when he was sixteen years old and was actively engaged in oystering until his health failed. He had at different times held the offices of town commissioner, town treasurer and commissioner of appeal of Keyport. A wife and eight children survive him. The children are Mrs. Fred Post, Miss Irene Mason, and John, Thomas, Samuel, Lorenzo, George and William Mason. He leaves also a brother, Wesley Mason and a sister, Mrs. William A. Poling.
