Sad Ending Of A Honeymoon.

The Groom Contracts Pneumonia and Dies.

John McElhinney, son of Patrick McElhinney of Long Branch, was recently married to Miss May S. Smith of Brooklyn. While in Washington on his wedding trip Mr. McElhinney was taken sick with pneumonia and the couple returned hastily to the bride’s home in Brooklyn. Pneumonia developed and Mr. McElhinney died on Monday of last week.

Mr. McElhinney was 26 years old. He graduated from the Long Branch public school in 1894. He studied at Columbia law school for a year and then entered the New York law school, from which he graduated. After being admitted to the bar he spent a year in Fay & VanNote’s office at Long Branch. Three years ago he located at Perth Amboy and was building up a lucrative practice there.
