Obituaries - NY - 1915 - Ethan Allen Doty

Doty, Ethan Alle, died at the Doty home, No. 736 St.
Mark's Avenue, Brooklyn, new York, on March 10, 1915, aged
78 leaving a wife and a son.
Mr. Doty was one of the oldest paper manufacturers in the
country. he was formally active in Republican politics in Brooklyn,
and at one time Chairman of the Civil Service Commission in the
City of Brooklyn, and was delegate to the National Convention
which nominated William McKinley for his first term as President.
He was active in the union for Christian work, and gave
liberally to charity.
Mr. Doty had been President of the Edison Electric Illuminating
Company of Brooklyn, a Director of the Fifth Avenue Bank,
and other corporations.
