John Herbert Snelling, President of the Marine Manufacturing and Supply
Companyof 158 South Street died yesterday in his seventieth year at his
home, 87 North Eighteenth Street, East Orange. He was an expert electrical
and marine engineer who produced many devices used by submarine chasers
and destroyers during the war. He was long associated with Lewis Nixon
in the Crescent Shipyards, and also directed alterations made on the
Shamrock Ill.
