FALL FATAL TO MRS. WEIMER, 89
Injury Causes Death of Charter Member of Martin Luther Church
Mrs. Julia Weimer, aged 89, 245 Jefferson St., for 80 years a resident of
Youngstown, oldest living member of the Martin Luther Church and one of its
charter members, died at five a.m. today as the result of a fall two weeks
ago.
Mrs. Weimer had been in apparently good health until she fell in her home,
injuring her hip. She never rallied from the shock of the fall.
Born in Germany Dec. 13, 1841, Mrs. Weimer came to the United States and to
this city in 1851. Charles Weimer, her husband, died some years ago. Until
her injury Mrs. Weimer was active in her church. She wanted to live to see
the dedication of the new Martin Luther Church now under construction at
Hudson Drive and Clearmont Ave. She was widely known in the Brier Hill
district where she leaves many friends to mourn her passing.
Mrs. Weimer always attended the annual Lutheran picnic and had expected to
attend the outing of her Church this year. Mrs. Weimer made her home with her
daughter, Mrs. Fred Schroeder. She leaves three other children, Mrs. Julius
H. Dahman, Mrs. Lena Klemm and William Weimer. Miss Julia M. Dahman of 404 N.
Worthington St. is a granddaughter. Mrs. Weimer leaves 13 other
grandchildren.
