Milton J. Pilgert, husband of Mrs. Annie (Reinert) Pilgert, died yesterday at his home on Furnace St.,
Topton. He observed his 63rd birthday last month. Born in Longswamp township, son of Sarah
(Shoemaker) and the late John Pilgert, he was employed for 17 years by the Caloric Stove Corp.,
Topton, and was a member of the Lutheran wing of Longswamp church. In addition to his mother, who
resides near Henningsville, Berks county, and his wife, he leaves the following children: Mrs.
George Snyder, Collegeville R. 1; John Pilgert, Topton; LeRoy and Robert Pilgert, at home; and Ralph
Pilgert, Kutztown. Also surviving are five grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. George Keim, Alburtis R.
1 and Mrs. A. F. Kemp, Mertztown R. 1; and four brothers, Frank Pilgert, Landis Store; William and
Albert Pilgert, Mertztown; and James Pilgert, near Henningsville. Rev. Wilson Hartzell will conduct
services at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Schofer funeral home, 107 Main St., Topton, with burial in
Longswamp cemetery. Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
