BEAUFORT -- Woodrow Wilson Bailey, 87, died July 28, 2000 at home. He was born in Burton. He was a farmer with John G. Traske & Sons. He was a member of the Baptist Church of Beaufort. He was a founding member of the Moose Club. He was instrumental in starting the Beaufort Water Festival. He was the designer and builder of the Bailey Boats.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Carolyn Davidson Bailey of Beaufort; three sons, James Bailey of Jacksonville, Fla., Anthony Bailey of Pensacola, Fla., and Mitchell Bailey of Arcadia, Fla.; three daughters, Helen Fletcher of Beaufort, Barbara B. Doyle of Lincolnton and Sandra J. Crossman of Beaufort; a brother, Leo Bailey of Port Royal; a sister, Marjorie Montanaro of New York City; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.

VISITATION: 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Anderson Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Monday at Anderson Funeral Home, burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
